Apple iOS 8 & Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite goes official

Yesterday at WWDC Apple announced features of the upcoming iOS 8 and Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite. There are no changes in the UI of the OS, However a number of new features are introduced and improvements are done for better stability. With this update, an updated version of Siri will also be coming to apple devices.


There are lots of new features in iOS 8. Some of the major changes include more interactive notification centre where the user can directly reply to messages from the lockscreen. It even works for social media posts too. iCloud integration is more enhanced allowing media to stay updated on all Apple devices associated with the same Apple ID. 5 GB of free online space is provided and more space can be purchased for a annual fee.

There is a Health tracking app called HealthKit which allows tracking of fitness activities of user. Third Party apps can now be used to replace default iOS keyboard for better accessibility. And finally Apple users will see more options in iOS's native camera app like Burst Mode, Timer etc.

First release of iOS 8 is expected to debut with iPhone 6 in later this year followed by OTA updates for previous versions of iPhone, iPad, iPad Mini & iPod.
