The device is much upgraded from its predecessor Galaxy S 4. The screen size of the phone is 5.1 inches (1080p Full HD Resolution) with Super AMOLED Display.
There are also improvements in the camera with the ability to record videos at 4K UHD resolution. And photos can now be captured at 16 Megapixels. Other camera features include the ability to capture dual video, dual images, dual video call, simultaneous video & image recording and HDR.
Samsung has now entered into making waterproof smartphones. The Galaxy S 5 has and IP67 rating which makes it water resistant and dust proof. The back cover is still the plastic material bit disappointing for some user as it does not give a very premium feel. But the material is still good to touch. The pattern on the back was expected to be leather faux with stitch effect. But samsung has used a dotted design on full back cover giving it an aquatic look.
Along with the galaxy S 5 samsung has also introduced two upgraded versions of Gear smartwatch namely the Gear 2 and Gear Fit. Gear 2 is a full featured smartwatch while the Gear Fit focuses on your fitness. Gear fit has many features which lets you keep track of your health say if you are doing your workout in gym it can track how much exercises you have done and how much more you need to. It can also monitor your heartbeat rates.
