Sony's Xperia Z was launched in the Q1 of 2013. It gained massive success due to its waterproof capabilities.
It comes with a 5 inches of Full HD (1080 x 1920) display along with Sony's Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz of Quadcore processor with 2 GBs of RAM.
It has 13.1 megapixels of Camera and video recording at 1080p Full HD. Photos as well as videos can be recorded in HDR mode for low light conditions. It has shatter proof and scratch resistant glass on its front and back as well. Currently it comes with Android Jelly bean v4.3 and is planned to get upgrade to the KitKat version that is Android 4.4.
Battery on Xperia Z is Li-Ion 2330 mAh which is non removable. On an average use it can last for upto 2 days while if you are playing games or using internet the battery gets empty in 5-6 hours. Sony has also included an option called stamina mode which allows you to use the mobile on very low power consumption.
Its IP rating is IP 57 - water and dust resistant. Although its a water resistant phone. It can make a dive and survive in water for upto 30 mins under 1 meter of depth provided that the earphone, charging and sd card flaps are firmly closed.
